The Atoms went to the Newcastle Atoms only tournament and came home with the Gold. This two day intensive event for the Atoms was a total of 11 games to finally come out as the winners
The semi final game against Newcastle was by far our best game with every player finding the last depth of their energy on both teams that proved entertaining for the crowd that was cheering both teams on. No one could chose an MPV as the whole team performed to its best each holding and playing their positions brilliantly. Liam did the perfect accepted pass, skate up and pass to Nathan that had everyone cheering with skate skate skate, Ethan did the most amazing defensive work and timed his play beautifully, Troy was terrific in not only defending but playing the puck forward and spot on passing to the forwards, Jack dug down so deep and refused to let the game go any where but forward when he was in possession of the puck, Tim with his never say die attitude was just so good and exciting to watch as he shot on goal, Nathan, Daniel and Zahn proved an unforgiving very tough forward line that worked well in achieving their goal to win, Reece and Zac played an rock solid defensive line that both supported each other and the forwards to keep the game in the offensive and on the attack and Matthew everyone would agree he was just simply awesome, you had to be there to see just how clever he was as our very talented goalie. The Cyclones went on the play Canterbury for the Gold and won convincingly.

Special mention must go to Coach Dimitiri that managed to keep the team focused together especially on the last two games when exhaustion was starting to take hold and to get the team through to the win.
The team, parents and coaches had a great exhausting two days on an event that was run so smoothly that made it easy to sit and enjoy, mind you when the team was playing there was a lot of cheering, laughter, clapping and cheering again on, especially the last two games.
Congratulations Central Coast Cyclone Atoms well done.
